Strengthened to live and share the faith
In Confirmation, the Holy Spirit is poured out upon the baptised, sealing them with His gifts and strengthening them to witness to Christ in word and action. Together with Baptism and the Holy Eucharist, it completes Christian initiation.
In our Syro-Malabar tradition, this sacrament, known as Chrismation, is usually received together with Baptism, when the child is anointed with the holy Myron. If you or your child were baptised in another tradition and have not yet been confirmed, or you are an adult seeking to complete your initiation, our parish will gladly help you prepare.

Register
Return the request form with copies of the documents listed above.
Prepare
Attend preparation sessions on the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the life of a witness to Christ.
Celebrate
Receive the sacrament during the Holy Qurbana, surrounded by family, sponsor and parish.
Sponsors
Choosing a sponsor
A sponsor accompanies the candidate and supports them in living a faithful Christian life. Choose prayerfully. A sponsor should be:
- At least 16 years old
- A practising Catholic who has received Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist
- Not the parent of the candidate
- Ideally one of the candidate’s baptismal godparents
